News : Agile on the Beach 2014 - Call for Papers

We are delighted to invite speakers to submit proposals to speak at the fourth Agile on the Beach conference at Falmouth University, Cornwall, UK on 4 & 5 September 2014. Agile on the Beach welcomes submissions on any subject that falls within the three themes of the conference: Software Craftsmanship, Business and Teams. In particular we are keen to encourage working practitioners to submit sessions and case studies.

Submissions should be made by 28 February 2014 and speakers will be notified by 1 April 2014. Please send submissions using the online form at http://agileonthebeach.com/call-for-papers-2014/

 

Based on previous feedback and requests the following topics are of particular interest:

Software Craftsmanship
* Continuous Delivery in a software product company
* Test Driven Development (TDD) and Design
* Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) & Specification by Example (SbE)
* User Experience Design / Front-end design
* Testing in an Agile environment
* Security and reliability in an Agile environment

Teams
* Agile basics: Scrum, Kanban, estimation, planning poker
* Agile team structures and culture
* Agile leadership

Business
* Case studies of Agile adoption and success and Agile outside of Software Development are especially welcome.
* Effective Product Management and product roadmapping
* Applying a Test First Driven approach to business development and strategy
* Agile in the Public sector – national and local Government
* Agile Marketing
* Agile Contracts with clients
* Lean Startup & Innovation metrics for start ups

 

Last years’ was a sell out and attended by over 220 people. This was split evenly between attendees from the local area and those who came from further afield – including London, Manchester, Germany, Eastern Europe and Israel.Further information on travel, accommodation and the conference is available on the website www.agileonthebeach.com
